Earth Carbon Offsets Climate change is an urgent and complex problem with a relatively simple cause. Excess carbon dioxide (CO2) in the earth's atmosphere is creating a "greenhouse effect" that's raising temperatures around the globe. Scientists agree that to stop global warming, we must act quickly to reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. Achieving this goal requires a two-step approach: 1. Decreasing our current CO2 emissions. 2. Increasing the earth's terrestrial carbon sinks - the forests, wetlands and grasslands that help regulate the climate by storing CO2. Earth Carbon Offsets are rigorously verified voluntary emissions reduction credits derived from terrestrial carbon sequestration projects that have been designed to restore marginalized ecosystems back to health. The high-quality, Earth Carbon Offsets generated by these projects are an important part of a sustainable, long-term solution to climate change. |
